Training Tower Drill

No, this firefighter is not laying down on the job.  The purpose of this exercise was to simulate removing and donning the Scott Air pack while laying down and confined in a small space.

This makeshift device allowed firefighters to practice removing their Scott Packs and crawling to safety while in a confined space.  Note that the mask never leaves the firefighter's face and the air pack remains functional at all times

This torturous device allowed firefighters to practice crawling through a confined space where the air pack could get hung up on wires or other debris.
