The Village of Valatie owns the firehouse and all the equipment. The Department is funded by taxes which are collected and allocated by the Village Board.  Click on the picture below to visit the Village of Valatie Web Site.

While fighting fires and responding to other emergencies such as motor vehicle accidents is serious business, we do manage to have some fun once in a while. We have an annual banquet in April and since 1971, the Department has hosted the annual Halloween parade and party. We also participate in the Town of Kinderhook's annual Memorial Day parade, the Columbia County Volunteer Firefighter's Association parade and the Fireman's Parade at the Chatham Fair.
